2012 All-County spring sports teams

Just in from the Maryland Independent:
La Plata Warriors on the Charles County All-County spring sports teams!

Coach of the Year
Kris Bayer, fourth season
Led the Warriors to an undefeated 5-0 record in the county; finished 8-6 overall, 7-5 in conference play with a sixth-place finish; averaged 16.6 goals a game in county games and won by a 14.8-point margin in those contests; yielded only nine goals to county opponents; defeated two out-of-county teams in Calvert and Great Mills; earned the All-County COY honor for second straight season

Boys Lacrosse Athlete of the Year
Jake Bayer, junior attack
Was the Warriors' leading scorer and team leader; averaged 1.78 goals and one assist per game in 14 games this season; helped lead the team to an undefeated record in county play; catalyst on the defense and caused numerous turnovers; recently named a US Lacrosse Academic All-American for Southern Maryland

First team
Defense: Dalton Perrell, La Plata junior
Team’s best defender; led a defense that only gave up nine goals to county opponents

Defense: Jacob Fitch, La Plata junior
26 groundballs; 4 assists; 1 goal
Midfield: Nathan Hupp, La Plata senior
21 goals; 10 assists
Midfield: Greg Garner, La Plata senior
15 goals; 10 assists
Attack: Jake Bayer, La Plata junior
25 goals; 16 assists; 43 groundballs
Attack: Bobby Stahl, La Plata sophomore
22 goals; 16 assists
Attack: Eric Erion, La Plata junior
21 goals; 10 assists
Utility: Chris Clark, La Plata junior
7 goals; 5 assists; 57 groundballs; won 73 percent of face-offs

Second team
