Calvert Recorder: La Plata boys lax scores late to edge Calvert

Last year, La Plata’s boys lacrosse team chalked up its first win over a non-Charles County opponent when it defeated Great Mills. Wednesday, the Warriors earned their first win over a Calvert County team, thanks to a 7-6 win over the host Cavaliers. For full story click here

5K Fun Run for 5K+ Fund Raiser

Nearly four years ago, Charles County introduced lacrosse into its high schools. In our first three seasons, the La Plata Varsity Boys Lacrosse Team amassed a record of 27 wins and 8 losses and two county championships. As we take our next step into the extremely competitive world of Maryland high school lacrosse, we are looking for help to take us to the next level.

On April 15, we will be holding the first of what will become an Alnnual Warriors Lacrosse 5K Run to raise money for our program. Details on the run, to be held on the Indian Head Rail Trail.

In exchange for a $200 donation, your logo will adorn the T-shirts that will be given to each participant, as well as prominently shown on a banner that will be displayed at all of our home games as well as here on the LPHS LAX blog.

Funds raised will help defray costs for training aids and equipment, upgraded uniforms and out-of-conference competitions that would normally not be possible.

LPHS Spring 2012 Schedule: Save the Dates!

It's official, the spring 2012 SMAC lacrosse season is underway.

Varsity will have a scrimmage at 4 p.m., March 14 at Chopticon, with the regular season to begin on Wednesday, March 21 at Calvert High School in Prince Frederick.

The 12-game schedule is as follows (JV games begin at 5 p.m. and varsity at 6:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted):

Wednesday, March 21 vs. Calvert at Calvert. JV begins at 4 p.m., varsity at 5:30.

Wednesday, March 28 vs. Patuxent at home.

Friday, March 30 vs. Westlake at home.

Monday, April 2 vs. Great Mills at Great Mills.

Tuesday, April 10 vs. North Point at home.

Friday, April 13 vs. McDonough at McDonough.

Wednesday, April 18 vs. Northern at home.

Friday, Aprill 20 vs. Lackey at Lackey.

Tuesday, April 24 vs. Leonardtown at home.

Friday, April 27 vs. Chopticon at Chopticon.

Tuesday, May 1 vs. Huntingtown at home.
