Athletes to watch: A Jake Bayer (Sr., All-County AOY), A Eric Erion (Sr., All-County), A Bobby Stahl (Jr., All-County), M Jacob Fitch (Sr., All-County), D Austin Smith (Fr.), G Luke Bayer (So.), M Richard Jackson (Jr.), D/M Dillon Turner (Sr.), M Chris Clark (Sr.), D Dalton Parrell (Sr.), D Leif Egland (Sr.), M Matt Gleason (So.)
Key personnel losses: M Nate Hupp (All-County), M Greg Garner (All-County), G Ben Marquis (All-County), M Eric Martin (All-County), D David Brown (All-County)
Strengths: The Warriors bring back seven returning starters, including all of their reigning first-team All-County attack players in Bayer (25 goals, 16 assists), Erion (21 goals, 10 assists) and Stahl (22 goals, 16 assists), who will be the team’s major offensive threats this season. With a team that is familiar with each other, the Warriors are looking to move closer up the SMAC ladder.
Weaknesses: There are some players on the roster who lack varsity experience, but there is a good mix of upperclassmen and underclassmen. After losing first-team All-County standouts Hupp and Garner, the midfield will need to step up and be productive during the season.
Coach’s comments: “Our goal is to win the county, and realistically, we want to compete with SMAC and finish better than we did last season.”
